Nandy was born in Moshi, Tanzania to Mrs. Mary Charles, a seamstress and Elder Charles Mfinanga, who is a mechanic. Nandy’s name is short for her real name Nandera. He started performing at a very young age. At the age of five, he was an active member of the Sunday ELCT Church training choir in Moshi. He completed his primary education at Mawenzi Primary School, and later joined Lomwe High School where he was the main choir member at the school.
