Darassa, whose real name is Shariff Thabeit Hamisi, is a Tanzanian musician and songwriter. He was born on October 20, 1987 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Darassa began his music career as a member of a rap group called “Camp Mulla” in Kenya. However, he later decided to pursue a solo career. In 2015, he released his debut single “Sikati Tamaa” which became a hit in Tanzania and marked his breakthrough into the music industry.

He has since released several successful songs, including “Muziki” featuring Ben Pol, “Hasara Roho,” “Too Much” featuring Ben Pol, and “Relax,” among others. His music style combines traditional Tanzanian sounds with modern hip-hop and R&B influences.

Darassa has collaborated with various artists in the East African music scene, such as Harmonize, Diamond Platnumz, and Marioo. He has also been recognized for his lyrical prowess and storytelling abilities in his songs.

In addition to his musical career, Darassa is known for his philanthropic work. He has been involved in various charitable endeavors, including supporting street children in Tanzania.
